Grants

The Homer Fund provides financial assistance to qualifying Home Depot associates in need through two types of grants - Direct Grants and Matching Grants.

Direct Grants require the associate to meet very specific criteria. Generally, this grant targets associates who are unable to pay their basic living expenses as a direct result of an illness, injury, natural disaster, fire, death or unemployment. Other limited and unexpected circumstances may fall under a Direct Grant and are further explained on the Direct Grants page.

With a Matching Grant, associates may collect money to help another associate in need. The Homer Fund supports the generosity of these associates by matching $2 for every $1 collected. The Matching Grant may be used to cover expenses not covered by a Direct Grant* (i.e., car loans, non-essential utilities, or pay remaining balance after Direct Grant has been exhausted). While the Matching Grant is more liberal than the Direct Grant, guidelines still exist. More information on the Matching Grant may be found on the Matching Grants page.

*Expenses, such as bail money or money collected for organizations, will not be covered under a Matching or Direct Grant.
